VROOOOOOOM!

I am thrilled to announce my new picture book biography of astronaut Jessica Meir will be published in October by Islandport Press! In a surprise plot twist, Alexandra S. D. Hinrichs, author of The Lobster Lady, became the children's book editor in March and quickly acquired my manuscript for The Cosmic Journey of Jessica Meir. Just as I was finishing the text edits and final illustrations, we learned Jessica would be going back into space! With an invitation from the Johnson Space Center, Alex and I traveled to the Kennedy Space Center in mid-February. Wow!!! Witnessing my heroine blast off again was a deeply moving (and LOUD) experience! She is now commander of Crew-12 on the International Space Station, orbiting over us at this very moment!
